Your Journey to Quilting Mastery Begins Here!

The Annapolis Quilt Guild offers several workshops each year, covering a variety of techniques and projects. We strive to bring in widely recognized instructors while keeping the cost to attend affordable. Details on class fees, supplies and any pre-class preparation are noted in each workshop description.

Workshops are generally held on the first Monday of the month, with the workshop presenter giving a related lecture at that evening’s guild meeting. Workshops may be held in-person, at the Severna Park Community Center, or via zoom.

Workshops are open to non-Guild members for an additional fee, as noted in the description for each workshop.

Registration is available online via “Register Online Now” link for each workshop. If the registration link is not available it means the workshop is full; please send an email to aqgprogramchair@gmail.com if you wish to be placed on a waiting list. Payment may be made via credit card at the time of online registration (preferred), by mailing a check or by bringing a check or cash to a guild meeting. Your place in the class is not confirmed until payment is received.

This raw edged appliqué technique is extremely accurate. Ellen’s tricks for staying organized will ensure that your class time is efficient, productive, and free of frustration. Mock Molas & Sashiko

Monday, April 7, 2025
9am-3pm, in-person

Two handwork classes that explore unique needlework styles but are easy and relaxing to do!

  • Sashiko is a traditional Japanese needlework technique that is easy to do and offers endless creative opportunities.
  • Traditional molas from Panama are beautiful, but require layers of fabric and small, detailed stitching. Alice created this class to modify the Traditional Mola by using Felt to make a project that keeps the style and colors of the original, but is so much easier and faster!

Each class has a required kit ($50 for both, payable the day of the class) that contains all of the supplies for the projects. Please bring general hand sewing supplies (thimble, small sharp scissors, a range of needle sizes).

Fee: $50 Guild members / $60 non-Guild members

“Reversible Spicy Spiral Table Runner”

September 8, 2025
9am-3pm, in-person

Come make this amazing reversible table runner! This project is easier than it looks but will take some prep work. Thru the magic of the wedge ruler, you will actually create two very complex-looking tablerunners that will be sewn together to form a reversible piece. Students will be required to cut the fabric strips in advance and sew them into a strata that will be ‘ready to go’ on the morning of the class.

Please note that this project will require purchase of a 9 or 10 degree Triangle Wedge Ruler prior to class.

Students will also need to purchase the pattern for approximately $10. Information on how to purchase will be published as soon as it is available.
