Bindings will be hand painted canvas and machine stitched to make construction a breeze after class! These small wall pieces could be framed in a shadowbox frame, or hung with decorative or vintage hangers. There will be a kit available to purchase at the class for $35. The kit will include the PFD fabric for 2 pages, two hand dyed background fabrics, batting, ribbons and needles. You will also have use of Caran D’Ache Wax Pastels, brushes and Textile Medium in class. Threads will be available to purchase during class or on my website. 2023 December Event - details to come

Details from our 2022 celebration:

• Collection of donated children’s quilts (15 and under) that will be distributed by the Anne Arundel
County Department of Social Services. AA County serves 2,000 families during the holiday season so
the need is great. Our goal this year is to have (at least) 100 quilts. The quilts should be about 40-45
inches wide and 60-65 inches long. Fleece blankets are welcome as well.
• Fat quarter exchange: Like last year, bring 4 fat quarters in a brown paper bag for a fat quarter exchange
• Tree block lottery: Bring any tree blocks you have made and receive a raffle ticket for each block
entered. We will have a drawing for the blocks towards the end of meeting. The templates and
instructions for the tree block are available on the members only portion of the AQG website.
• Ugly sweater contest. Don your finest ugly holiday sweater and join a parade at the beginning of the
meeting. Sign up and receive a number to display on your sweater for voting purposes. Voting will be
throughout the evening and a prize will be awarded to the winner at the end of evening.
• Slideshow presentation by our historian, Hilke Hoefer, on 40 years of the Annapolis Quilt Guild.
• Show & Tell
• Member vendors are welcome; please let Janice or Debora know ASAP if you want to sell your
homemade goods, so we can plan the space.
We will serve light refreshments and drinks. Feel free to bring homemade desserts or
snacks to add to the table.
